The new Phase3 Experimental MIDI Synth: Standard MIDI input with external sensor connections for control via photocells (photo resistors), touch sensors/pressure sensors or ribbon sensors.
The Phase3 Experimental MIDI Synth produces sounds using FM synthesis which was used in vintage 80's keyboard synths such as the Yamaha DX7, video arcade games and Atari computers.
The Phase3 Experimental MIDI Synth can be connected to any PC or Mac computer and used with software such as Max/MSP, Pure Data, Ableton, etc.
Without a computer: Connect it to a vintage or modern Casio or Yamaha keyboard with the Phase3 Experimental MIDI output. Any vintage or modern MIDI controller will work with the Phase3 Experimental MIDI Synth.
Circuit bending and LoFi electronics are very interesting because of their inventive and experimental natures. I try to bring those concepts together in the machines I make. Invention through electronics and coding to create new sounds not found in commercially mass produced products.
